as an ExampleResearcher: Lin, Ya-PingAbstract Urban skyline is
the result after cumulating a series of human life. Knowing
city''s development track and phenomena of social culture through
observing and reading via skyline, on the other hand, being
capable of distinguishing directions via the guidance of
skyline. Nonetheless most previous archives concerning urban
skyline images emphasize on describing image in a sensitive way
after observing, but neglect that observing through skyline is
via the reception of vision image, which must be in the basic
observing process and vision environment, but not be observed in
any places and from any angles. Hence, observing through urban
skyline is not known at random, but be constructed by vision
environment state between observer and skyline vision. The
research takes skyline in Taipei city as an example mainly
because of the unique integration of geographical shapes and
condition in Taipei city, whose tall buildings are gathered in
east and west district because of twin nucleus project. From the
viewpoint of natural environment and artificial creature, Taipei
city has great potential of being observed through urban
skyline, therefore, urban skyline image is the main topic of the
context, and process the analysis in observing skyline image in
Taipei city. The main points of the research are attributed into
three points:1. Construct the foundation of urban skyline image
through the theory. Construct the foundation of the behaviorism
of urban skyline image via the theory of urban vision and the
theory of exterior space in architecture presented by Yoshinobu
Ashihara. Understand the reason of observing through skyline?
Then discuss the background and meaning of the development of
skyline through the analysis of Kevin Lynch''s urban ideology and
environmental psychology, and gain the clear pattern of city
image of urban skyline.2. Construct method of observing urban
skyline, and attempt to take Taipei City as a discussion
pattern. Process actual observation on skyline in Taipei city,
understand problems and restraints aroused in the process of
skyline image, and acquire the understanding of versified vision
changes and differences occurred in different vision environment
states adopting the same skyline sight for observation.3.
Construct basic process, vision environment and methods of
analysis through the observation of skyline image. Urban skyline
image has certain process and principle. After process the
actual observation of vision of skyline image, process to
decipher skyline image in Taipei city, which can be divided into
two parts: 1. Analysis and induction of vision environment
factor while observing, and obtain ideal environment for
observing; 2. Abstract analysis of the format of skyline image,
and then obtain city''s basic structure and variety of skyline.
