The rheological properties of visco us sediment-water mixtures of thedebris-flow were analyzed by using horizonal-rotational rheometer, made byBrookfield company in U.S.A.. Experimental results show that once the debris-flow entered a wide basin, it will spread out, deposit quickly, and from a debris fan. Three topographic scales, the length (LC),width (Bm) and depth( ZO)of the debris-flow fan were used as characteristic parameters to analyze the debris-flow fan. The results of analysis show that the debris-flow fan in a stable stage canbe described by Gaussian function in both of the longitudinal and cross sect-ion. The plain shape of the debris-flow fan is also found to have the similar-ity which is able to be described by a circular. Additionally, the configur-ation of the debris-flow fan are not only varied with the volume of viscousmaterial but also the rheological properties of viscous sediment-watermixtures.
