In the past, the use of water reource has been emphasized upon the development and utilization. Mostcontrol policies have been over emphsized the contro of point source pollution. While the potential influence of NPS pollution has been long ingored and becomethe critical point of reaching water pollution control goal. It's necessaryto realize the characteristics of local NPS pollution, and the importance ofNPS pollution in water resource planning and management. Computer models are powerful tool to estimate NPS pollution severity andto identify NPS problem areas. The use of these models has been limited because of the requirement of large amount of spatial data and expertise to operate these models. These problems can be overcome by the integration of NPS pollution models with geographic information systems(GIS). Thisintegration also makes the models become versatile in applications as well. In this study, we propose to integrate NPS pollution model -- StormWaterPollution Model(SWPM) with GIS. A case study of Da-Wu-Ruen river basin is performed to simulate the NPS pollution condition. The integrated SWPM-GIS isthen to apply on several management issues to understand the active relationship between land resource and water resource within river basin. 龐元勳 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
