Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資源管理研究所 === 86 === Economical miracle in Taiwan improves life quality while produces environmental pollution. Soil Pollution, one of the environmental pollution, is often neglected by general public due to the highly assimilative capacity of the soil. However, the diversities of the soil properties and incompatible landuse may promote the movement of pollutions into underground aquifer. Further, subsequent uptaken of pollutants by crops increase the health risk of human life. It may also invoke public concern or even confrontation that leads to social instability. In order to obtain sustainable landuse, the cadmium pollution potential of soil in Taoyuan is discussed in this study. The indicators of cadmium pollution and pollution hazards are established based on the acknowledgment of the fate of the cadmium and risk assessment. These indicators are also well defined by using GIS. The highly polluted region and high health risk are depicted in a two-dimensional map. These visual GIS maps can be used as powerful tools to educate general public relating the soil pollution and its effects on health risk. Thus, not only the public can realize the confinement of pollution region but also preventing unnecessary confrontation.Besides, via full aspect of considering in cadmium amount, soil pollution potential and health risk, the results of this study can provide useful information for the governmental policy decision - making.
