Poly(vinyl alcohol) is a water-soluble polymer, and water is the best solvent. By utilizing the water-soluble PVA as a soluble constituent which can simplify the process and the requirement of safety. However the thermoplasticity of PVA is poor。 In this study, partialhydrolysis PVA is used and Glycerol is selected as plasticizer to produce Thermoplastic Poly(Vinyl Alcohol). After plasticization, the melting-point and viscosity of PVA were decreased to considerable extent and the thermoplasticity was improved obviously. It confirm Glycerol and PVA has good compatibility. The processability of melt- spinning, fiber formation andwater-solubility of fiber are excellent in various conditions. From the rheological analysis of TPVA/PP blend, the form of blended fiber can be discussed. By blending the low viscosity TPVA with PP or increase the volumeproportion of PP which can get more visible PP microfibers or porous fibers respectively after dissolve the TPVA constituent from SEM photographs. This study confirm TPVA is a appropriate soluble constituent of blended fiber. Lin Chin-An 林清安 1998 學位論文 ; thesis 43 zh-TW
