Present American Highway Capacity Manual's procedures are not
suitable in Taiwan area.The use of the method developed in
Taiwan is limited.
In this project,typical permissive left turn type will be
selected first.Video tapes will then be made to collect left
turn decision making possible factors.A macroscopic driver
behaavior is studied.Finally,currently used mldel will be
implemented to make comparison.An ANN or statistical model is
expected to be built for future use.
The results of this project will enhance the weakness of the
existing intersection capacity analysis.It will further be used
to develop a simulation model in intersection studies.
