Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 86 ===   This study construct an Intranet - based decision support system for effective intra - organizational communications. Such system consists of document management, message management, workflow management, and decision support subsystems to serve various needs within an organization.   Based on the proposed framework, a system prototype was developed and applied in an oil / grease refining factory for the inventory management and control. Lotus Notes was used to develop such system. The evalustion of the system revealed that:   1) The user''s perceived usefulness is rated 4.05 out of 5. The study also finds that the document management subsystem and workflow management subsytem are perceived highly in time saving and error reduction.   2) The measurement of the organizational efficiency is rated 3.89 which is slightly higher than that of the organizational effectiveness. The item "Speed up the decision making" is rated the highest. The user expressed that the system assisted the decision maker in finding the proper safety stock and reorder point to better prepare for purchasing. The support of discussion group and e - mail did help in disseminating the market information for better organization efficiency.   3) The organizational effectiveness is rated 3.89 out of 5. Among the measured items, improving organizational effectiveness, better reaction to market change, and assisting the organization in new application and decision support are perceived highly.
