Summary: | 碩士 === 中正理工學院 === 造船工程研究所 === 86 === The main structures of ships usually consist of plate, beam and column elements. Among those, the plate elements are the most used in ship structure and their main function is to resist the fluid pressure loads. However, the capability of the plate elements to resist the out-of-plane loads is weak. The beam elements are then added to reinforce the ship rigidity of bending. The beam and column elements are mainly used to construct the web and frame structures in ship. In recent years, due to the requirement to reduce the weight of ships, the structure of ships has adopted many high intensity and lightweight materials. However, the stiffness of ship structure will reduce and result from the vibration problems.
It is an important task to investigate the dynamics of ship structure to avoid the vibration problems. In this study, we will use the “Modal Testing Method” and “Finite Element Method (FEM)” to determine the dynamic properties of the structure elements of ships. We will consider the beam and plate elements with different dimensions and boundary conditions and discuss the results of the two methods. In addition, to obtain more accurate results, the models used FEM are modified based on the investigation of Modal Testing Method.
