their own ethnic culture, and their self concept in Taipei City''
s and Taipei County''s elementary school. This study employed
the survey method. The subjects were Ami aborgine children
enrolled in 37 elementary schools randomly selected from public
elementary schools in Taipei City and Taipei County."
Questionnaire on Ami aborgine children''s ethnic attitude and
knowledge about their own ethnic culture","Children''s self
concept scale"are adopted as means used for the statement
analysis ,statistics of t-test, one-way ANOVA,product-moment
correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis. The main
findings of this study are: 1.Children''s ethnic attitude
commonly tends to be positive; the knowledge about their own
ethnic culture is good and the self concept is positive. 2.The
fifth grade children''s ethnic attitude is more postive than
that of sixth grade children 3.Children from family with belief
in Catholicism are of conscious about their culture better than
those from family with belief in Buddhism. 4.Children who move
to Taipei area after going to elementary school are
psychologically in lack of feeling with his own tribe ,and are
apt to be anxious. 5.Children''s knowledge about ethnic culture
is greatly concerned with their gregarious patterns. 6.Children
who move to Taipei County are more positive in self concept
than those who move to Taipei City. 7.Children whose mother
have higher educational background are more psychologically
pessimistic about their own tribe and are apt to be anxious in
interpersonal relationship. 8.Children whose parents are
engaged in service industry are more in anxiety and have less
sense of bliss. 9.The statistics reveals that the Ami aborginal
children''s ethnic attitude,knowledge about their culture and
self concept have significant positive correlation. 10.Children''
s ethnic attitude is predictable according to
