Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 俄羅斯研究所 === 85 === The dissolution of communist power and the disintegration of the Soviet Union represent one of the most important periods in Russian history, a turning point at least as important as 1917. The Communist Party which lasted in Russia for more than seventy years. The Communist Party and personalized leadership vied for dominance, but the state remained an administrative force rather than an autonmous political institution. When Gorbachev during perestroika attempted to separate the Communist Party from the state the result was the collapse of both. The Republic of Russian Federation is currently undergoing a process of democratization. The reconstituted Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), led by Gennadii Zyuganov, sought to combine nationalist and communist motifs within the framework of a new commitment to democracy, and enjoyed some success in the elections of 1993,1995and 1996.
This study seeks to examine the condition of communist party of the Russian Federation during democracy developed in Russia. The central question taken up by this study can be put as follows: On political programs and political activities, what is difference between CPSU and CPRF? Can CPRF change itself to sustain the democratic order? Had CPRF become a democratic party? What is the role of CPRF in Russian political system?
This study begins by outlining the principle and agenda of communist party. The second part of this study discusses the CPRF'' s adoption on the agenda and a realistic (or desirable) prospect. Part three, briefly discusses the consequences of three times electoral outcome for the new Russian government, the new Russian parliament, and the future of CPRF.
