People not only use computers to process large amount of data, but also use computer networks to transfer all sorts of messages. Computers have improved our work efficiency. But in this diversified society, team work is very important. The combination of computers, networks and related information technologies has been developed toward this aspect. The result contributes to the idea of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work( CSCW). Therefore, we can use groupware to accomplish this goal. Internet is a network that facilitates multi-user to collaborate on a same project. With the facility of multimedia becomes more popular, people get more and more information via various sources. Groupware integrates internet and multimedia. It also allows users in different points to talk to each other for a group project. By using the function of multimedia, it makes every user communicate with others without problem. The objective of designing Groupware is to support a cooperation environment. At the same time, the users are not required to leave their own working office. And, they still communicate and share the same information . After all , the system can save time and space. My research is to design an application which is required to demonstrate and satisfy the character of Groupware. The system should be used widely on the network. I use a client- server framework . The sever end deals with managing network to be connected by the clients and transmit the shared data . And the client end is a personal working environment with a carefully designed interface to have every user own the same workspace . The users cooperative and achieve a common task by communicating with text messages, graphics, and voice.
