Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 土木工程學系 === 85 === Fly Ash and slag are two industrial waste materials. Theycan
be used in soil stabilization, but need mixed with
othermaterials. In this research, fly ash and slag were used to
improve the engineering properties of Tamsui Laterite. There
are thirteen combinations of Laterite-Fly Ash-Slagmixtures in
this study. The fly ash content ranges from zero to twenty
percent whereas the slag content ranges from zeroto ten percent
on the dry weight basis. Tests contented inthis study includes
unconfined compression tests, direct shear test, and one-
dimensional consolidation tests. Theengineering properties of
laterite such as strength and consolidation were tested with
respect to different curingtime and methods. The results
indicate that the improvements on engineeringproperites are:
(1)The strength of laterite-fly ash-slag mixtures generally
incewase with the curing time. The strength of laterite -fly
ash-slag mixtures decreases when they are soaking in wet
sand for curing. (2)The compressibility of laterite-fly ash-
slag mixtures decrease about eighty percent after curing
twenty-eight days. (3)The cohesion and angle of internal
friction of laterite- fly ash-slag mixtures increase on all
the mixes.
