Summary: | 碩士 === 東海大學 === 統計學系 === 85 === This study was focused to investigate the connections of
traffic accidents and driving behaviors through
collecting and analyzing the self-reported
questionnaires by those drivers who have the record of
traffic violation. A factorized driving behavior questionnaire
(FDBQ) which combines driver behavior questionnaire
(DBQ) and driving behavior inventory (DBI) has been
developed to accommodate the local traffic conditions
in Taiwan so as to make the questionnaire more representative.
In the statistical analysis processes, eight common factors were
selected and named, including driving aggression, speeding
violation, driving stress from overtaking and being
overtaken, inattentive error, operation error, driving
alertness, driving anxiety and the willingness of driving.
Based on obtained accident risk likelihood the drivers were
split into high-risk and low-risk group. The drivers in
high-risk group were found to be significantly prone to
having high driving aggression and high speeding
violation rate. The results also indicated that the level of
risk likelihood decreased with the increasing of driver''''''''s age
and male drivers appeared to have higher accident risk
than female drivers. In additions, those people who
reported to have been convicting over speeding and license
suspended were also found to have high risk of driving
accident.
