Rather, it uses data from a lesser studied nation -- Taiwan, and calculate a much more accurate market experience measure for married females. What we try to answer is whether the overestimation (in our sample, by 65.6 months, or 29.3%) of market experience of married females, via using the traditional "potential" experience, biases the measure of gender (wage) discrimination. And if so, by how much. The empirical evidence shows that by using the re-calculated "real" experience (EXR) over the "potential" experience (EXP), the coefficient estimates do change, but neither the magnitude nor the resulting effect on gender "wage discrimination" is substantial. If this finding proves to be robust, our practice of using potential experience may be less damaging than we thought. Hou Jack W. 侯維忠 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW
