and occupaitonal c hoice tendency of
senior students who major in Tourism industry managerment at
Universities and Graduate Schools. This research also explores
how the demog raphic variables
influence on students' work value and occupationalchoice tend
ency. The research is based on literature review, and by
means of question air survey to collect
data.The samples of this research include 323 students w
ho major in Tourism at four different universities. The data
were analysised b y descriptive
statistics, chi-squre,T-test,and One way ANOVA. The results a
re as follow:
1.Occupational choiceoice tendency: over 70% of the students
showed tendency to choose tourism i dustry as their
career. Their first two priorities were to work for travel a
gencies and for transportation network. 2.The orientation of
work value: stude nts view "Supervisory
Relations" and "Way of Life"as their most importent wo
rk values. They view " Esthete" and "Intellectual-stimulation"
as less import ent values. 3.Studints'
occupational choice tendency can be influenced by diff
erent sex. Students' tourism industry choice tendency can be
influenced by di fferent education,
and socioeconomic status.4.Students' work value is similar
to occupational choice, their work value are also influenced
by different s ex, universities, work
experience, and family socioeconomic status. Final
ly , based on the above results, they provide some suggestion to
the education al authorities for the
sake of improving current tousicm vocational education
.
