In doing this, I intend to show how Bishop's physical journey became a resource in her poetry for the journey to master this chaoticworld. To achieve this end, I examine the development in the imagery coming from her travels and the passing of time. Chapter one focuses on how a personidentifies the self in the unapproachable world. The second chapter deals with the relationships between master and servant that reveal Bishop's concernfor the people who suffer from class alienation. Chapter three discusses three successful examples of achieving a sense of victory, love, and joy by domesticating the unknown world. By the discussions of the rich varieties of resources in the three chapters, we may find that domesticating the unknown worlds is Bishop's way of mastering the sense of loss and the sense of homelessness in a traveling life.
