Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台灣工業技術學院 === 營建工程技術研究所 === 85 === A series of CK0U true triaxial tests have been carried out at various stress paths to study the mechanical behavior of remolded Taipei silty clay ,with or without grout column modification. Test results indicate that the Young''s moduli in vertical direction for soils with or without grout column modification decrease with increasing strain at small strain(<1%) when the major principal stress rotate from vertical to horizontal direction. However, if the strain increases beyond 1%, then the Young''s moduli will approach a steady value for both soils. In comparison, no such phenomenon is obversed for the Young''s modulus in horizontal direction. In other words, the anisotropic behavior is more significant in vertical direction. If the major principal stress is in horizontal direction (lateral loading), the effect of grout column on increasing soil stiffness becomes obvious only at small strain. Otherwise, no noticeable difference in soil stiffness can be observed if the strain becomes larger. If soil is laterally loaded with flexible boundary condition, a 4 to 5% improvement ratio is needed to mobilize the influence of grout column in incerasing the undrained shear strength of soil.
