In this thesis, we try to classify the yield factors into nine items. Three of them are concerned with employee''s efforts, including operator, equipment engineer, and process engineer. The rest factors are raw material, product design, process technology, equipment, environment, and related industry. In order to induce employee to work hard to improve yield, we apply the incentive pay theory to sketch a proper incentive form. After visiting Taiwan United Microelectronics Corp., our major finding include the followings: 1.Equipment and process technology are influenced the yield most. 2.The major incentive pay of operator is technique subsidy which depends on productivity, attendance rate, and wafer scrap rate. 3.The major incentive pay of equipment engineer is basing on the running rate of machines. 4.The major incentive pay of process engineer is bonus which depends on yield improvement.
