Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台灣工業技術學院 === 管理技術研究所 === 85 === A recent trend in organization management has concentrated on restructuring work around groups rather than individuals in response to growing demands for efficiency and flexibility. However, conflict between group members can have disruptive effects on group activities. Furthermore, as groups grow, members in groups get acquaintance gradually. It has been found that groups with familiar members are likely to outperform groups of strangers. As a result, group effectiveness is considered to be affected by group diversity and familiarity. This thesis is especially interested in the effect of decision styles on individual beliefs and attitudes in teamwork over group development stages. After surveying 89 undergraduate students in two MIS courses, this thesis found that at the forming stage of group, decision styles are significantly correlated with individual*s beliefs in group experiences. Findings also show the importance of the maintenance of group member*s beliefs and attitudes because good first experiences are related to the final experiences.
