Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台灣工業技術學院 === 化學工程技術研究所 === 85 === PVT data were measured by a high-pressure densimeter in a
temperature range of 298.15 K to 338.15 K and pressures up to 30
MPa for several polymer cuts, polymer blends and polymer
solutions. The constituent compounds include poly(ethylene
glycol)(PEG), poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (PEGME) and
1-octanol. The investigated mixtures in this study are PEG-200
+ 1-octanol, PEG-600 + 1-octanol, PEGME-350 + 1-octanol, PEG-200
+ PEGME-350, PEG-600 + PEGME-350. As shown from the
experimental results, the excess volumes of PEG-200 + 1-octanol,
PEG-600 + 1-octanol and PEGME-350 + 1-octanol are positive,
whereas those of PEG-200 + PEGME-350 and PEG-600 + PEGME-350 are
negative. The Tait equation was used to correlate the density
data and its coeffi-cients so determined were then applied to
calculate the isother-mal compressibilities. The magnitudes of
the isothermal compressi-bilities follow the order of 1-octanol
> PEGME-350 > PEG-600 > PEG-200. The Redlich-Kister model was
used to correlate the excess volumes of the mixtures at each
specific temperature and pressure. The Prigogine "square-well"
cell model, the FOV model, the Schotte, and the Polymer CPHC
equations of state were also employed to correlate the density
data. The values of the binary interaction parameters for each
binary system were determined simultaneously. The correlated
results indicated that the average absolute deviation from the
tested models, except for the Prigogine {symbol 147 \f "Times
New Roman"}square-well{symbol 148 \f "Times New Roman"} cell
model, were acceptable.
