Comparing to typical micro-sized particles , nanopowders are three orders smaller in length direction , six orders smaller in surface area and nine orders smaller in volume . It possesses the potential of tailoring various material applications . This dissertation evaluate the methodologies of investigating the nanopowder particle sizes and its distribution . Ultrasonic dispersion method adopted to disperse SiC and diamond -graphite mixture nanopowders were presented in detail . Using SiC as the additive in electroplating to develop composite plating was also examined in detail .
