study are formed by connecting series of four-bar linkages with
prismatic pairs. As the four-bar linkages reach their extreme
positions simultaneously, the higher-order dwell characteristics
will be observed. With connecting a proper constraining linkage,
this higher-order dwell mechanism can provide variable dwell
characteristics and different input-output relationships.In this
study, the first step is to seek the suitable four-bar linkages
having prismatic pairs and to identity the possible branching
configurations of then. The non-isomorphic graphs are formed by
connecting these four-bar linkages in series then. Finally a
proper constrained linkage is generated by modifying the dwell
linkage.A computer code is depended, which can anaiyze each
isomorphic bond*s characteristic curves and simulate the motion
of mechanism at different pivot positions. The isomorphic and
the adjustable linkage size ,therefore, can be selected by these
curves.
