Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電機工程學系 === 85 === Anti-alias is an important topic in digital signal processing( DIP), and in digital image processing(DIP), it comes out to "jaggy" or "staircase" effect. The same result will occur when we display Chinese characters. The alias makes we hard to justify small Chinese characters, and strongly lower legibility when we read an article. Therefore, if we want to display high quality Chinese characters on cathode ray tubes(CRT), the man task is to do anti-alias. This paper focuses on displaying small Chinese characters on CRT: besides doing anti-alias to small Chinese characters to generate gray scale characters, we adjust the position and width of the strokes to generate high contrast characters. So that we can display very clear and more legible characters, and make reading small-Chinese-character-article more comfortable. The order of procedure we propose are: obtain the stroke contour, super-sampling, adjust the position and width of strokes and fills them, filtering, sub sampling. We also propose a set of gray scale specific hinting information for Chinese characters. In adjusting position and width of strokes, we use artificial, computing and hinting information for bi-level character separately. In filtering, we had tried box, conical and Gaussian filters. At last, we propose a set of gray scale specific hinting information for Chinese characters.
