One must pay attention if these instruments are operated manually. Moreover, further data analysis of the experimental data is difficult. To overcome the problem, a computer can be used to control the instruments and analyze data. In this thesis, two kinds of medical devices were computer controlled. One includes a CO2 monitor, a temperature meter and an infusion pump in which the RS-232 protocol we used for data communication, which the other kind of instruments such as a waveform generator and an oscilloscope, the GPIP protocol is used. To increase the number of channels of the RS-232 in an IBM compatible PC, a multiplexing interface card was designed. We used this system to carry out preliminary experiments of selective activation of C-fiber. From the experimental results, we conclude that this system is useful. An autonomic anesthetic control system in the future will be built based on this system. Te-Son Kuo, F.S. Jaw 郭德盛, 趙福杉 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW
