Under this distributed scheme, one of the most important issues of designing a multimedia system is how to synchronize the multimedia objects coming from different machines and having various properties to be presented in a synchronous way to meet the temporal and spatial requirements on a single machine smoothly. In this thesis, we propose a synchronization model IXOCPN (Interactive eXtended Object Composition Petri Net) which is based on the XOCPN model. We can use it to design the synchronization agents for distributed multimedia objects. We discuss the operations of synchronization agents from three cases: (1)single machine, (2) single server, and (3)multiple servers. Besides, we also define the classes related to synchronization agents, which can simplify the interface design of distributed multimedia systems. We discuss the advantages and functionalities of synchronization agents. The other design issues, such as user interaction, are also discussed. Anthony J.T. Lee 李瑞庭 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 75 zh-TW
