The unsteady motions include: (1)the impulsive motion from rest. (2)the periodical swing of jet deflection angle. (3)the sinusoidal heaving motion.Through the present study, the following conclusions can be obtained: (1)For the jet-flapped foil, it takes about for the flow field to reach steady state in the impulsive motion from rest. (2)The periodical swing of jet deflection angle will generate the delay effect in the flow field. This effect will decrease the effective jet deflection angle. (3)In sinusoidal heaving motion, the lift coefficient curve shows a phase lead tendency.
