碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 商學研究所 === 85 === This thesis tries to analysis the innovation of component firms and system firmswhich under different product architecture ( modular architecture and integralarchitecture ). The critical issues include : the limited condition of innovation, the influence to other parts of the system, the value of innovation and how to hold the value. For each of these four types of innovation, we haveone or two cases to contrast with. By this analysis, we may understand that the interaction of other parts in the system causes by the innovation, and therelationship of competition and cooperation between firms and their competition firms. And in the end of the thesis, we also have the differences in product development management according to architectural approach.
