博士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 物理學系 === 85 === We study some low dimensional field theoretical models.
These studies are related to field theories at high temperature.
In chapter one, we discussthe properties of the models we are
going to study -- Topologically MassiveGauge Theories (TMGTs)
and Schwinger model. In Chapter two, we discuss the difficulties
people confront in perturbative analysis of finite
temperaturefield theories and introduce the concept of "Hard
Thermal Loop" proposed byBraaten and Pisarski. After that, we
discuss the problem about the fermionmass shift due to finite
temperature effect in a TMGT. In chapter three, wediscuss
dimensional reduction in high temperature field theories and
magneticmass. We study a model proposed by Khlebnikov and
Shaposhnikov, which is related to the generation of magnetic
mass. In the finial chapter, we useperturbative method to study
the Schwinger boson mass in the plasma phaseof massive Schwinger
model. We clarify how the chiral anomaly re-emergesat infinite
temperature and compare our result with the one obtained
byHosotani et al. recently.
