Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 公共衛生研究所 === 85 === AbstractThis study evaluates the applicability of advanced oxidation method (UV/H2O2 and UV/TiO2) to control the natural organic matter (NOM) in drinking water. Factors considered includes the concentrations of!NOM, presence of alkalinity and dissolved oxygen in water. Different kinds of glass media (quartz and pyrex glass) were used to control the penetration of the UV lights with different wavelength. The results indicated that the addition of 0.6% H2O2 give the best results to reduce the NOM concentration in water. Addition of TiO2 will also helpful in reducing the NOM concentration. The presence of alkalinity may interfere the penetration of the UV light, hence affect the effect of the UV oxidation process. Quartz filter is the best media in this study for the control of the NOM, use of the pyrex glass or other glass as the filter may stop the penetration of the low wavelength UV light and so reduce its oxidation ability for NOM.
