The subjects were 661 teacher college students for the survey study and 10 guvernment paid and 10 non-govemment paid students for the interview study. The main findings of this study were as follows:   1.The government paid students had a better life adjustment than the non-government piad students. The government paid students were more satisfied with their financial support status, while the non-buvernment paid students were not as much as satisfied with their non-financial support status.   2.The government paid students had a better teacher attitude than the non-government piad students. The government paid students valued teachers'''' social-status more highly than the non-gouvernment paid students.   3.Life adjustment was significantly correlated with teacher attitude. When combined, three components in life adjustment, i.e., peer relationship, goal orientation, and emotional stability, accounted for about 7.83% of variance in teacher attitude.   4.Neithe of the govermment paid and non-government paid students agreed on the regulation in teacher education law that the non-education major college students are qualified as elementary school teachers if they have completed 40 credits of professional education curriculla.
