To enhance the performance of the RSFC, the proposed DRS operating as a differentiator is added into the fuzzy controller to detect the effect of the disturbance on the accuracy of the transmission system. With this detected information, the controller can adjust its control force on-line and suppress the disturbance rapidly, so that it is less sensitive to the disturbance. For illustrative purpose, the carriage system of an ink-jet printer is used as an example for verifying the proposed disturbance-rejection scheme. The printer is mounted on a movable stage that is bolted to the flange of a vibration generator. Therefore, the frame of the printer can be oscillated to simulate the effects of the true disturbance on the transmission system.
