Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 85 === Due to the rapid change of business environment and information technology, using effective decision support systems (DSS) plays an increasingly important role in decision making Traditionally, DSS have been applied successfully to many problem domains, from financial planning to classroom scheduling Recently, the emergence of INTERNET and World-Wild Web (WWW) has opened a new era for decision support.
The objective of the research is to explore decision support on the Web It is composed of two major modules: First, we investigate the current features of DSS development tools to understand the extent to which they support Web. The results indicate that many tools are web-enabled, which supports Web browsers to be the user interface, but may not fully integrated with their data and modeling engines. Then, an agent-based framework for developing truly web-based DSS is presented. The core concept is to develop systems that allow “decision support on demand”An architecture for web-based DSS, design of agents for web-based DSS, and protocol for coordinating agents are studied The findings are useful for developing the next-generation DSS.
