It seeks to utilize the aggregate resources of many networked computers to solve a single problem. The drawback is that network computing is complicated and error prone when being done by human. Although there are many kinds of distributed computing environment, however, they are not compatible and users are not easy to develop application on these environments. In this thesis, we design and implement a parallel/distributed programming support environment. The environment consists of a C program parser, program partitioner and PVM program generator. With this environment, users can only write a traditional C program, then our system will parse the sequential C program to construct useful behavior information which will be used by partitioner to partition the sequential program into several mission groups. Finally, the program generator will generate PVM programs based on the partition information. Our system provides a flexiable design. When the system wants to be ported to other architectures or other parallel/distributed system platform, we need only modify the program partitioner and program generator. The growth of interconnected high performance workstations has produced a new computing paradigm called"clustered workstation network computing". In this thesis, we design and implement a parallel/distributed programming support environment. The environment consists of a C program parser, program partitioner and PVM program generator.
