Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 海洋資源學系 === 85 === According to 18 cruises of WOCE (World Ocean Circulation Experiment) XBT (expendable bathythermograph) data, a temperature front with horizontal gradient △T/△n>0.1 ℃/n mile exists between 121°E∼123°E in the southeast sea of Taiwan all the year round. Sometimes, the temperature front divided into two parts. One located about 122°±15''E, another existed at 121°E∼121°30''E. Normally the temperature front is hard to find on the sea surface except in winter. Furthermore, the mixed layer appears in autumn and reaches its thickest state in winter, then it decreases in spring and finally disappears in summer. According to WOCE XCTD (expendable CTD) data, the water in the east of temperature front belongs to the Philippine Sea Water. It appeared very low salinity on the sea surface nearby 123°E during the southwest wind prevailed in summer. Under sea surface, the water had the Philippine Sea Water characteristics but below 500 meters it appeared like the Kuroshio Water. In the west of temperature front nearby 121°E, the sea surface had more salinity in autumn and winter, but less salinity in summer. The water with temperature between 23℃ and 18 ℃ in the T-S diagram were divided into three groups and it appeared less salinity in winter. Below 14℃, there was no more the Philippine Sea Water at all. The water at depth between 150 and 250 meter had the same characteristics with the water of Luzon Strait.
