Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 公共衛生學研究所 === 85 === There are many methods measure personality. But few measures are specifically designed for adolescents. The Junior Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (JEPQ) was designed for children aged 7 to 16 by Hans J. Eysenck, and English psychologist, to evaluate three dimensions of personality - psychoticism, extroversion and neuroticism. It also has a lie scale to assess the accountability of subjects'' answers. Comparing with other personality measures used in Taiwan, JEPQ has less items and is easier to use. The purposes of this study are to explore the Chinese version of JEPQ in terms of (i) the internal consistency of the scales; (ii)the test-retest reliability of the scales; (iii) the construct validity of the scales; and (iv) the concurrent validity of the scales. Study subjects were 905 students randomly selected from three public junior high schools in Taipei. The values of Chronbach'' □ for scales were all above 0.7, except for Psychoticism, with the highest value of 0.82 for Neuroticism. The correlation coefficients between scales are low. As for test-retest reliability, the Extroversion scale is the highest (0.86) and the Psychoticism scale is the lowest (0.70). The result of factor analysis shows good construct validity. These results indicate that the Chinese version of JEPQ is not only a reliable but also a valid tool to measure personality. It will be useful to future personality research among adolescents in Taiwan.
