Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 應用地質研究所 === 85 === In recent years, several large constructions are being
condtructed in north-central and south-western
Taiwan, it will encounter the problems of mudrocks of western
foothills region. This study used the mudrocks
of Cholan Fromation and Toukoshan Fromation in
Paoshan, Hsinchu carried out to understand the difference of
mudrocks properties in north-central and
south-western Taiwan. The study used the slake-durability test
carried out to understand the durability of the
mudrocks. To establish the relation of the dynamic
parameter of sonic test and the static parameter of uniaxial
compressive test. The pin penetration test
that is used in the concrete to obtain the uniaxial compressive
strength of the mudrocks. The X-ray diffraction
analysis of clay minerals carried out to understand
the composition of the mudrocks. The unsaturated unconsolidated
undrained (UUU) triaxial compression
test、the saturated unconsolidated undrained (SUU) triaxial
compression test and the consolidated undrained (CU) triaxial
compression test carried out to understand the
shearing behavior.
The results of this study revealed that the mudrocks in Paoshan
are siltstone and mudstone, and its
physical and mechanical properties as similar as south-western
Taiwan. When water content range is from 0% to
14%, the range of uniaxial compress strength is
from 0.14 MPa to 27.4 MPa, it represents that the strength of
weak rock will rapidly decrease due to
increasing water content. The slake-durability index (Id1) of
mudrocks in Paoshan is range from low durability
to high durability. There is a positive relation
between 2-cycle slaking durability (Id2) and uniaxial
compressive strength. Although there is a
relation between dynamic parameter and the static parameter, but
it can only provide a qualitative trend.
Relation between penetration depth p(10-3in) of the mudrocks
and uniaxial compressive strength qu (MPa) is:qu=132.3e-0.0107
p, if one can not sure about the rock type,
we suggest using this equation: qu=88.53e-0.0087p. Clay
minerals were composed of illite, kaolinite,
chlorite and montmorillonite. The illite is the main clay
mineral of mudrocks in Paoshan. The non-clay minerals were
composed of quartz and feldspar.
The triaxial tests which cell pressure is range from 100 kPa to
600 kPa come out the results that the value
of c is 1075 kPa, the value of f is 56o for UUU test, the value
of c is 1075 kPa, the value ofΦ is 56o for UUU test,
the value of c is 268 kPa, the value of Φ is 0o
for SUU test, the value of c'' is 30 kPa and 40 kPa, the value of
Φ'' is 54o and 53o for CU test. The mudrock
failure envelope is curve.
