Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 機械工程學系 === 85 === ABSTRACT Scientific and engineering advances in recent years have placedunusual demands on the die industry.Along with EDM developmentshave found as a result of the search foe better, faster manufacturingmethod to reduce costs and solve the difficult fabricating problemsposed by the newly die materials. In many cases as in tools and dies, severe pressure and thermal loading may be applied . to avoid possiblefailures arising from the surface defacts it vital that there is an adequate understanding of the nature and extent of surface damageimparted under various machining conditions,In EDM process, there isan important advantage that the machining performance does not dependon the properties of material such as the strength, hardness and toughnessBut the material removal rate and surface roughness are more slower androugher than the turning process. Therefore one of the important areas in EDM field is how to promotethe material removal rate and improve the surface accuracy.Attemptswere made to understand the surface transformation and damage in SK2die materials after EDM.It is found that the pulse energy correlates with surface characteristics, such as surface morphology ,surface roughness, thickness of damaged layer, microhardness profile, desity of surface crack.
