Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 電機工程學系 === 85 === The quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and the vestigialsideband modulation (VSB) are two competitive modulations for hybridfiber/coax CATV networks. In this thesis we focus on dual-mode64-QAM/8-VSB transmission system which proposed by C.K.Wang andM.T.Shiue in characterization, implementation, and a few simple testing methodswill be presented also. Three key prototype chips of this architecturehave been implemented by K.H. Huang and C.C.Lu. The first chip is adual-mode 64-QAM/8-VSB digital modulator for high speed digitalCATV modem, which is designed by C.C.Lu and facbricated in TSMC 0.8um CMOS SPDM process. And the second one is a dual-loopdigital automatic gain control (DAGC) chip finished in 1996 usingTSMC 0.8um CMOS SPDM process also. The last chip isa 2V low voltage low power VGA chip designed by K.H. Huang in 1996 by UMC 0.8um CMOS DPDM process. All the threechips will be tested separately. After that, the testing results is comparedwith simulation data to prove the original designs. Finally, we build thetesting boards with these chips onthem and check their performance with system specification.
