The purpose of our program is to let users conveniently utilize this program to generate a standard 007 benchmark database in order to evaluate the performance of an object - oriented database management system. According to the two principles - (1) whether descriptive attributes and reference attributes of an object should be stored together, and (2) whether a composite part and its associated graph should be stored together. We have four combinations of clustering schemes in our program. Thy are (1) descriptive attributes and reference reference attributes of an object are not stored together and a composite part and its associated graph are not stored tohether, (2) descriptive attributes and reference attributes of an object are stored together and a composite part and its associated graph are not stored together, (3) descriptive attributes and reference attributes of an object are not stored together but a composite part and its associated graph are stored together, and (4) descriptive attributes and reference attributes of an object are stored together and a composite part and its associated graph are stored together. With these four schemes, the user can choose what he needs to evaluate the performance of an object - oriented database management system. Because our program provides the user with flexibility of creating a userdefined benchmark database, it is very useful for research on the performance of object - oriented database management systems.
