Taiwan isin such a trend, and transits from the traditional agricultural society to the modern industrial one. Within series of changes of society, the traditional music has been forgot in the modern society. Many people know this, and hope to revive the lost traditional arts. However, it is quite different from the agricultural society not only in the life style but also in the concept of value. It is difficult to promote and develop the new musical population. This research will combine a fieldwork about organizations of traditional music and the theory of Sociology. From the deep discussion, the surviving way for traditional music will be found. This research is from the view of Sociology of Music, and it deals with the musical life in society and the social functions of music. After sociological method, the author realizes the change of society through history first, and then she compares and contrasts the life style and value judgment among the different periods. Besides, she uses Sociological investigation to analyze the need of musical organizations and the audience. By inquiring these phenomena, the conflict between modern society and traditional music can be solved. There are many historic sites in Tainan, and it is famous of the ancient culture. In addition, the Tainan Science-Based Industrial Park will attract lots of hi-tech human resources. It is foreseen that there will be a large change in the structure of economy and population. Consequently, this research can help to set up a new concept about the coexist of tradition and modern. It presents quite a new view that the development of economy and the protection of traditional art should be done at the same time.
