Furthermore, to survey the ''pharmacists of NHI contact pharmacies'' in order to find out their experiences, opinions and interactions with physician regarding to the separation of physician dispensing from medical practice. The subject is divided into the acceptance of released prescriptions and the pharmacists of NHI contact pharmacies. The materials found in this research were gained from two recourses;the cost detail file of ''released prescriptions of NHI contact pharmacies'' and the ''questionnaires of pharmacists'' dated from June 1995 to Dec 1996. The analysis method adapted here is a Microsoft package called ''SAS for windows 6.11. There were 302,266 effective prescriptions and 265 effective questionnaires used in this study. The conclusions were as following . In respect of the ''content specialties of prescriptions'': the average of released prescriptions were just 0.09 percent of the western physicians'' unreleased prescriptions. The average growth rate of released prescriptions was 34.6 percent per month in Taiwan, which seems to have a growth trend. This shows that the ''separation of physician dispensing from medical practice'' has gradually becoming effective. However, the ratio of '' released prescription'' is still low. The spread of spread of '' acceptance released prescriptions to NHI contract pharmacy'' is not even, but only concentrated on few certain pharmacies. During this 19 months research, on average the prescription fee is NT$ 391.4per one, NT$ 54.1 per day, and the length of each prescription is 7.2 days The total amount of the prescription drugs taken place during this period is NT$ 123,771,000, which represents 2.6 % of the applied amount from the GP in Dec, 1996. Furthermore, the spread of each prescription drug fee is also not even. 93.9% prescription type is general type, 6.1% is the chronic continuous prescription type. The average age of the pharmacists of '' acceptance released prescription to NHI contract pharmacies'' is 44.5, with average service period of 14.7 years. Out of that, 74.0% are male pharmacists. Furthermore, 84.0% NHI contract pharmacies are self - owner without involved in the ''chain - store'' system. Out of all NHI contract pharmacies, 50% stores taken space around 11 to 20 Pin (1 meter square = 0.3025 pin). Most of these pharmacies are situated in 5 cities; Chia yi city, Hua Lian county, Pon hu county, Taipei city and Tainan city. The main reason why the patient bring the prescription to the pharmacy is the trust to the professional pharmacists which taking up the proportion of 22.1%. In respect of the constructive interaction between the pharmacists and doctors are as; 47.1% of the NHI contract pharmacist responds that they will introduce patient to certain doctors. 18.1% of them think that the doctors will release prescriptions in return In respect of how to fully practice the ''separation of physician dispensing from medical practice''; 17.5% think it depends on the mutual confidence in each other and good cooperated relationship. The major opinion regarding to '' what is the most area needed to be improved'' ; 35.7% think both parties should put more emphasis on government''s attitude, also that, government should announces its confidence on this matter to increase people''s faith.
