So studying the bed evolution such as these, the effect of non-uniform suspended load transport should be considered. The purpose of this study is by solving suspended load concentration convective-diffusion equations to get suspended load transport rate of main channel and flood plains to develop a mathematical model of heterogeneous bed evolution for compound channel and then discuss the effect of suspended load transport. This model was applied to simulate the bed evolution of the Tsengwan Riverbelow Tsengwen Reservoir with and without suspended load transport. The comparison of the simulation results show that it is necessary to consider suspended load transport as the bed material including sand and silt. And the parameters of the pick-up rate function are also very important for the resultof the bed simulation. However, more field data to test the effect of the pick-up rate are necessary.
