碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工業設計學系 === 85 === The current CAD (Computer-Aided Design) applications can not capture the design intentions and express the original design concept for industrial designers. In this research, a representation model has been constructed, which allow the design intentions related to the interactions between users and products can be represented explicitly. In this research, the main methodology is based on object-oriented concept and feature-based structure representation. The remote controls of domestic appliances are chosen as the cases for sample studies here. Based on the analysis of operation processes, visualization features and interface entities of the existing samples, classes of interface units and relationships between the units are established. These classes are then transformed into a design representation model with which the information relaThe main purpose of the proposed model is to maintain the design intents within a product representation. With this model, the design can be constructed by a set of interface units. In addition, several design supports to assist design tasks are available through tracing the linkages, design intents, between interface units.
