Cybernetics, a modern western science, also refers tothe theory of changing. Cybernetics is the science of control and communication, in the animal and machine. In other word, a man/machine system, with cybernetic process, would maintain its performance in a state of dynamic equilibrium. Most of recent design methods have been evolved from western design philosophy and theory. To most Chinese people, they imply something missing. Undoubtedly, new design method development, by introducing orient philosophy into western one, will emerge."The I" provides an opportunity. The Yao-changing is the key element of "The I". Furthermore, the mechanism of Yao-changing evolves certain rules for design concept development and evaluation. "The I" also characterizes its prediction function, which will alow a designer to foresee a system''s future performance so as to set up an effective strategic plan beforehand. This thesis is an attempt to define the relationship between Yao-changing and Cybernetics and its application onto problem-solving process .
