This study describes technology strategy by five dimensions,including 1.the choise of technology 2.the investment of R&D 3.technology source 4.compe-titive timing 5.operating mode of R&D.And it drives two propositions based onBrockhoff & Chakrabarti''s technology strategy typology.1.Technology strategy of semiconductor manufacturing in Taiwan with the difference of content divides into four types, including(1)Defensive Imitator (2)Process Developer(3) Aggressive Specialist and(4)Aggressive Innovator.2.The new product success rate of Defensive Imitator is higher than ather types ,and category of patents differ with the content of technology strategy.
