business world think about technology by a view of
strategygradually.And they view technology strategy as a part of
whole corporate stra- tegy. This study describes technology
strategy by five dimensions,including 1.the choise of technology
2.the investment of R&D 3.technology source 4.compe-titive
timing 5.operating mode of R&D.And it drives two propositions
based onBrockhoff & Chakrabarti''s technology strategy
typology.1.Technology strategy of semiconductor manufacturing in
Taiwan with the difference of content divides into four types,
including(1)Defensive Imitator (2)Process Developer(3)
Aggressive Specialist and(4)Aggressive Innovator.2.The new
product success rate of Defensive Imitator is higher than ather
types ,and category of patents differ with the content of
technology strategy.
