Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 農業機械工程學系 === 85 === Modular pig houses are designed to create suitable environment for pig production with heating facility during cold weather and originally applied in the area of temperate climate. It is necessary to add cooling equipments into modular pig houses for their application in Taiwan area with subtropical climate. The experiment of this study consists of designing and setting up air conditioning system for raising sow and piglets during hot weather, measuring and analyzing the environmental data, and evaluating the performance of the pig growth. The major experimental results are described as follows: Concentrations of H2S and NH3 are in the acceptable range and dust density is higher than recommended standard with releasing manure pond twice per week. Average daily temperature difference between inside and outside can reach 6.35℃ with air conditioning system and feeding 7 sows and 62 piglets for summer operation. The energy cost is NT 3760 dollar / month which is equivalent to 1162 kwh. Average inside temperature is in the range form 24 to 25℃and is 6 - 9 ℃higher than the average outside temperature for winter operation.Performance evaluations are conducted with piglets from 8 sows raising at modular and traditional houses for comparison. There exists no significant difference for survival rate . Weight gain and feed conversion rate of piglets in modular houses are better than those in traditional houses. Average weights of piglets at modular and traditional houses are 8.8 and 6.3 kg for 4 - week old, 1.85 and 13.0 kg for 8 - week old. Feed conversion rate are 1.67 and 1.85 . Experimental results imply that reducing raising time and increasing productive efficiency can be reached by applying modular pig house
