Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 水土保持學類 === 85 === The definition of the time of concentration is the travel time
of a wave to move from the hydraulically most distant point in
the watershed to the outlet in this research. The theory of the
kinematic wave is used to bring out the fact that when the
rainfall intensity is varied in time domain, we get the formula
of the depth of the water wave and the traveling distance. Under
different types of rainfall events simulation, the kinematic
wave interprets the hydrologic phenomena with best effect. The
hypothetical condition, applicable ranges and the parameters are
compared and contrasted in the collection of the formulae of
time of concentration from foreign and native countries. Most
formulae of time of concentration consider the length and
hillslope factors which suggest the importance in the process of
deduction. The time of concentration from the comparison is long
in the kinematic wave formula; they are short in the
experimental formulae. Owing to the completely hydrologic theory
of the kinematic wave, the observed rainfall and discharge data
with the kinematic wave were simulated in the Lien-hua-chi
experimental watershed; the formula of time of concentration in
the forest watershed is available after the regression analysis
in this research. If we want to set up the formula of time of
concentration appropriate for the situation in Taiwan, we have
to identify with more observed data.
