Especially the imaging quality of a FPATIS has always been the focus of people''s concern and emphasis. In this thesis, we will focus on analysis and evaluation of three basic optical characteristics of FPATIS; including: (1) The Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference, NETD of the system''s detecting sensitivity (temperature resolution). (2) The Modulation Transfer Function, MTF of imaging quality. (3) The Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference, MRTD of imaging resolution. A part from exploring theories, this paper will also provide the evaluation and comparison of the characteristics of seven imagers. In this thesis, we will focus on analysis and evaluation of three basic optical characteristics of FPATIS; including:
