management issues, but also includes network management aspects.
In this thesis, we apply OSI and Internet management (CMIP and
SNMP) to our distributed system,SD2. This system can exist in
both OSI and TCP/IP network environments, theinterworking of
which uses a management gateway. All resources of the
distributed system that should be managed, such as compiler,
database, and processes, are modeled as managed objects (MO).
Monitoring and controlling of the system are to access the MOs.
The communication services offered to the user follow the MPI
standard and are managed in both OSI and Internet domains. We
integrate several tools to provide the OSI-Internet management
gateway translation information of MIBs. We also implement a
Web-based MIB browser to help users manage SD2.
