The SET (Secure Electronic Transactions) protocol is an emerging standard for credit card transactions conducted over the Internet. It is developed by VISA, MasterCard and many software companies and provides a set of Protocol Data Units together with algorithms and transaction facilities. It is no doubt that SET will become the standard on Electronic Commerce. There are four parties together in an Internet Credit card purchase transaction. These are the Cardholder, the Merchant, the Acquiring Bank and the Certificate Authority. Above all, the Merchant taking responsibility of the shopping flow, payment flow and message flow, stands an important role in Electronic Commerce. In this paper, I propose an architecture of a Merchant Management and Transaction Server for Electronic Commerce on World Wide Web. The system contains three modules: Goods Exhibition System, Merchant Management System and Secure Payment System. The Goods Exhibition System provides an user interface to let customers to search and negotiate goods. The Merchant Management System offers good, shopper and order management service. The Secure Payment System handles the transactions between Cardholder and Acquiring Bank: and provides a secure payment environment. Finally, by actually implementing a cyber bookstore to prove the architecture of the Merchant Server in this paper is really work. 陳英一 1997 學位論文 ; thesis 71 zh-TW
